Dust & Diagrams: Half a Year of Rally Thrills and a Growing Community!
Can you believe it? Just six short months ago, "Dust & Diagrams" was merely a spark of an idea, a vision to bring the electrifying world of rally to life for enthusiasts and newcomers alike. I wanted to capture the grit, the glory, and the intricate strategies that make this sport so captivating.
Now, as we hit the halfway point of 2025, I’m thrilled that this little blog has found its stride, revving up over 1000 views by showcasing the incredible Ontario rally scene! From the initial whispers of a concept to the roaring reality, "Dust & Diagrams" is going strong, and it's all thanks to you.
A Mid-Year Pit Stop: Rally Highlights So Far
Our journey through the 2025 rally season has been packed with action, focusing on the heart of the sport right here in Ontario. Highlighting the diverse challenges and triumphs across various disciplines, proving that you don't need a WRC sticker to experience world-class excitement.
Here's a look back at the major events we've plunged into:
The Snowy Safari Rally (Navigational Rally): We kicked off the year with this unique test of precision and teamwork. While the intellect of the navigator was certainly put to the test, this year's event demanded exceptional skill from the drivers, too. They battled not just wits but also extreme winter conditions on a challenging route, thanks to a major snowstorm that truly elevated the challenge beyond pure speed.
The KWRC Rallycross Series: This series has been a cornerstone of my coverage, bringing short, sharp, and intense action. The twists and turns of the season, from the pre-season test day on April 19th and the anticipation of the May 3rd opener (which was unfortunately cancelled due to a "Maid of the Mud" scenario!), to the overwhelming popularity of Rallycross #2, which even led to the addition of Rallycross 2A showcase raw car control and head-to-head excitement.
The Rally of the Voyageurs (Performance Rally): In-depth coverage of this Ontario Performance Rally Championship (OPRC) event showcased the high-speed thrills of stage rallying. Scheduled for April 5th, postponed to May 10th due to a significant ice storm, the action returned to the legendary Fire Access Road. It's where the machines and drivers are pushed to their absolute limits against the clock.
What's Kicking Up Dust Next?
The second half of 2025 promises even more rallying excitement, and "Dust & Diagrams" will be right there, bringing you all the action. Mark your calendars for these upcoming events:
KWRC Rallycross #3: Get ready for more sideways action and close battles on July 12th.

The Blossom Rally & SNATR#4: This navigational rally, initially slated for May 3rd, was rescheduled to July 26th as the KWRC juggled its calendar. Despite the delay, with plenty of foliage now in full bloom, it will definitely live up to its name!

The SNATR portion is specifically designed for beginners, offering a shorter route (half the length of the full rally) and much easier instructions, making it the perfect way for new teams to learn the ropes of navigational rallying.
MLRC Black Bear Rally: The thunderous roar of performance rally returns with the Black Bear Rally on August 9th.

I’m incredibly excited for what the rest of the year holds and can't wait to share every dusty moment with you.
