Dust & Diagrams: A Scorcher at KWRC RallyCross #3!
The air was thick with anticipation and a surprising initial lack of dust, as KWRC RallyCross #3 kicked off at the Eagles Nest in Ohsweken, Ontario. The sun beat down relentlessly, mirroring the intensity of the competition. The previous night's rain offered a brief reprieve from the usual dust clouds. This made for a smoother track surface to start, but that wouldn't last.

RallyCross is a blend of precision driving and raw power, all executed on a closed, dirt course. Drivers navigate a series of cones and turns, aiming for the fastest possible time over multiple runs. It's an accessible entry point into rally sport, showcasing car control and quick decision-making. You'll often see everything from daily drivers proving their mettle against purpose-built machines, and even a few clapped-out relics, all vying for the fastest time.
The KWRC organizers threw a few curveballs into the mix to keep things fresh for this event. For starters, the course was run in a counter-clockwise direction, a flip from the previous 2025 events. This change was paired with a technically challenging arrangement of the cones. Chicanes were strategically placed to temper speed on the straights, demanding drivers stay sharp and precise to hit the right exit points. Drivers had to complete two laps per run, and the cones were arranged to maintain a tight flow, leading into a very specific exit to the finish line.
As the cars completed their runs, the initial smoothness of the track gave way. With each passing car, a thick, silty layer of dirt accumulated along the outer edges, ready to punish any driver who strayed from the established racing line. This made precise car placement crucial and added another layer of complexity to an already demanding course.
When the dust finally settled and the timing sheets were tallied, a few names stood out at the top of the leaderboard. Congratulations are in order for our podium finishers:
1st Place: Lukasz Chlebek
2nd Place: Storme Wroblewski
3rd Place: Jason Ronza
